Restaurant Review: Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria, Mountain View

I was on Castro Street at dinner time, so I decided to try Amici’s.

Amici’s is a chain of 14 NorCal restaurants. The fancy, expensive-looking restaurant was large – it’s approved for up to 175 people.

But how was the food?

I had the Greek mini pizza ($12.50) and side garden salad ($4).

The salad had so much Italian Mustard dressing that it was more of a soup. I came within a millimeter of sending it back.

The pizza was cooked well and edible, but the taste was nothing to write home about. The ingredients included feta cheese, artichoke and sun-dried tomatoes. (Pizza My Heart has a much better Greek slice and salad combo for $7.75.)

Although it’s a nice restaurant with attentive service, I can’t recommend it based on the food.

There may be a case where you have a large group, in which case this would be a possible venue.

Lunch or dinner is about $20/person plus drinks.
