svDevOps: The Future of Configuration Management with Mark Burgess

Mark Burgess, CTO & co-founder of CFEngine, gave a talk on his Promise Theory at SVDevOps tonite.

Dr. Burgess had problems connecting with the audience of mostly sysadmins, probably because of a lack of concrete examples, reminiscent of Hans Reiser’s lecture on ReiserFS4’s dancing trees and wandering logs a decade ago. 🙂

I think he was trying to say that CM systems based on Promise Theory are non-procedural and converge in a more reliable way than writing complex code.
